Going out for an informal spin with an advance trainer tomorrow... Not sure what to expect as I've never done it before, in all my 250000miles of riding....

Who are you going out with? Generally I think it's a good idea. I'm waiting for the Guards to extend the bikesafe scheme to the south.

Me too.... did get a card for a Gerard McCarthy who a mate of mine recommended. He caters for Kerry/Limerick area apparently.

Chris, remember the ride from the meeting to the tea shop...

Well...

An interesting statistic...
Just back from the informal "advanced rider session"...

Now I got to lead a leg on a bit of road I did on Sunday....

I had my GPS with me and was not thinking of what I ended up doing...

On sunday I was going for it and did a 75KMH average speed on this leg 20miles

Today on my last bit of the session I did an average speed of 74KMH...

Oh dear I hear you all say after all this training...
But...

On sunday my max speed was 35KMH faster than today... On top of that I really felt good about todays ride where as Sunday, sometimes I was maybe a bit on the limit.... I don't mean dangerous, just "limit"

Brilliant.

Yes I have seen that, the guy we went out was totally OK. No pressure to overtake if you did not feel like it...
